Founded in 2004, Ambarella has leveraged the management team’s extensive background in designing low-power System-on-Chips (SoCs) that enable intelligent cameras to extract valuable data from high-resolution video streams. The SoCs offer high-resolution video compression, advanced image processing, and powerful deep neural network processing.
Ambarella’s CVflow chip architecture is based on a deep understanding of core computer vision algorithms. Unlike general-purpose CPUs and GPUs, CVflow includes a dedicated vision processing engine programmed with a high-level algorithm description to scale performance to trillions of operations per second with meager power consumption.
Ambarella provides edge solutions with low latency, high efficiency and exceptional performance, including front advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) cameras, smart electronic mirrors, and drive recorders. Positioned behind the rear view mirror, the forward-facing ADAS camera enables drivers to easily handle functions such as automatic emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning (LDW), forward collision warning (FCW), among others. On the other hand, Ambarella’s driver monitoring systems (DMS) solution processes clients interior-sensing algorithms at high speeds and with low power consumption, even at night (via onboard RGB-IR processing) that results in exceptional driving performance. Ambarella’s DMS solution can also be integrated with complementary camera applications, including electronic mirror, front-camera ADAS, high-resolution recording for better driving efficiency.
